Zenniz In Atlanta
Atlanta has a strong tennis culture, with a strong rec league network that boasts over 100,000 players. The largest tennis organizations in the metro area include the (ALTA) Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (founded in 1934) and USTA Atlanta.
Given Atlanta’s tennis scene, it was only natural for Zenniz to establish its US HQ in Atlanta.
"We chose Atlanta because it is undeniably the heart of the Southern tennis community. Atlanta offers an incredibly passionate, thriving network of players and facilities, making it the absolute perfect launchpad for the growth of Zenniz,” Santtu Leskinen, managing director, told Hypepotamus.
It is also home to new professional tennis league INTENNSE, which runs on a fast-paced, team-based format and is currently playing in the Assembly Studios in Atlanta. Zenniz just announced a partnership with INTENNSE which brings its pro‑grade smart‑court training and player development tools to players and coaches.
“Zenniz represents exactly what INTENNSE stands for, which is bringing the best technology in tennis to our players,” said Charles Allen, CEO of INTENNSE, in a press statement. “The kind of insights that used to appear only in tour‑level analysis are now part of our daily training, accelerating how our players learn, adapt, and grow.”
Zenniz has also been piloting its technology at the Rome Tennis Center in northwest Georgia.
Atlanta’s location also will serve as a “strategic central location” for the company’s expansion efforts into other major markets.
While Zenniz’s Atlanta office has only two people currently, Leskinen told Hypepotamus that they have “big plans on the horizon” when it comes to hiring.
“Atlanta features a lot of talented sports professionals, and our blueprint is to aggressively recruit and build out our core team right here in the local market," Leskinen added.
Zenniz’s Growth Over The Year
Sports fans in the US might first think of Finland for its hockey prowess. But tennis is growing in popularity in the Nordic country, and more Finnish stars like Harri Heliövaara, Emil Ruusuvuori, Otto Virtanen, and Jarkko Nieminen have made their mark on the international stage.

As a SportsTech company, Zenniz’s international expansion is just the latest example of Finland’s strong tech industry, which is centered around the cities of Helsinki, Oulu, Espoo, and Tampere. Oura Ring, Verda (formerly DataCrunch), EventTech platform Brella, and Wolt (acquired by DoorDash in an over $8 billion deal) were also founded in Finland before expanding globally.
Zenniz raised a $6 million venture round earlier this year. Its main investors include Finnish firms Butterfly Ventures and Superhero Capital, as well as French firm Seventure Partners. The company is currently led by co-founder Eero Kuusi, and its AI-powered line-calling and smart tennis court solutions are found in over 25 countries. Its technology is ITF-certified for club-level international tournaments.
