Editor's Note #1: Things are changing at Hypepotamus. Join us on this next chapter.
Hi Hypepotamus readers,
Fourteen years ago, we launched Hypepotamus to cover the underreported Southeast innovation ecosystem.
In this time we’ve amassed:
- 1+ million annual site views
- 60k+ social followers
- 7,000+ articles
- 10 markets covered
Beginning this week, you’ll notice a few changes - including a new platform, new partners, and new ways we intend to serve our community.
What Is Not Changing
First and foremost, we will remain a FREE community news resource, serving the founders, funders, and business leaders across the region and beyond.
What Is Changing
- Website: We’ve moved to a new platform to streamline our UX and newsletter capabilities
- Partners: For the first time we’ve added community partners
- Newsletter: Our newsletter will now be sent through Ghost. You do not need to take any action unless you would like to update your subscription preferences. You can do so from the homepage by signing in with your email address. No password required.
- AI Policy: We’ve updated our Code of Ethics to reflect the changing role of AI in media
- Content: We’re adding more in-depth content, including:
- More stories focused on growth-stage and corporate innovation
- More profile pieces about tech leaders
- More resource pages designed for entrepreneurs and the broader tech community
Hyperlocal content is more powerful than ever in today’s fast-changing media world. Independent journalism and in-depth reporting, like what Hypepotamus provides, is increasingly important. We are excited for this next chapter of Hypepotamus. As always, we want to hear from you so please reach out with your comments, ideas, and story suggestions.
We appreciate your support and continued readership!
