Frequently Asked Questions
What is Hypepotamus?
You can consider Hypepotamus to be the open source business development and marketing engine for the entire Atlanta startup community. We’re building a greater density of media and events to connect the Atlanta startup community with students and corporations.
Who owns Hypepotamus?
We are a Georgia nonprofit corporation (501c3 application pending) with a board of directors who oversee our operations. We exist for the community’s benefit and all of our revenues go towards delivering educational and economic development programs.
Where is Hypepotamus located?
We’re everywhere our media and events go. If you’re looking for our workspace, you can find our team and main studio at 817 West Peachtree Street NW, Suite A-110, Atlanta, GA 30308. We’re located in the arcade level of The Biltmore, located on West Peachtree Street in between 5th and 6th streets.
If I’m coming to visit your workspace, where should I park?
Parking can be found in The Biltmore parking deck, next door at the AT&T parking deck, down the street in the lot across from Starbucks (5th and Spring St), or any open street side metered spot. Free street side parking can be found a few blocks east along Piedmont and Myrtle Streets.
Can I really just show up and use your workspace for free?
Yes, we’re different. We’re open to the public Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm and will stay open later when we host events. Every entrepreneur, coder, designer, student, investor, and storyteller is invited to use our workspace. Feel free to grab any seat at our open tables in the main room, connect to the free WiFi, say hello to those around you, grab a whiteboard, use our conference room, and build out your idea.
Who’s paying for all this?
We are with the help of our sponsors. Give them some love.
